I Hate Snakes

Indiana Jones hated snakes. Every movie had him come face to face with his fears. My wife hates snakes. My boys helped her remember her fear by hiding rubber snakes under towels, in cabinets or kitchen drawers. She adds her insight:
I hate snakes! I dislike them so much, that I can’t even look at a picture of one. You’re thinking, “How sad is that?” Why do we let things like that get under skins or even stop us from doing certain things we will miss out on?

What are you afraid of? Probably things that are a little more life changing than snakes! Economic disaster, war, disease, fear of the unknown, divorce…these things can cause us so much fear and worry that we become paralyzed by them.

When we talk about fear, please remember who you are.

Because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.”

Romans 8:14-15a

Live as children of God. Live your life in the fullness that has been given to us.
