Work

Work has become a dirty word in our society. When you talk to employers today, many of them will tell you that it is hard to find a good employee. They will cite work ethic, morals, attitude and attention to detail as challenges in finding that “right” employee.
The Bible challenges the Christian to be ideal employee and employer. We are not to be lazy, irresponsible, dishonest or immoral. We are to work as we are working for the Lord (Colossians 3:23-24).
Work is not the product of sin. God gave it to Adam and Eve before the fall of man (Genesis 2:15). We are to do the work and God is to get the glory. This work makes us partners with God by providing for the needs of ourselves and the world in general.
Work! Be God’s servant by being the best worker. Be God’s ambassador by being the best employee. Be God’s light and have the best attitude at the office. Don’t work to be saved. Work because you are saved.
