Tragedy

Death, disease, incarceration, stage 4, hospice, funeral home directors, oncologist, death bed prayers, cemeteries, emergency rooms, sirens, late night phone calls, grave side scriptures, blockage, flat line, reading the will, or a call from the police station. What do you say? How do you show you care? What do you do? Some of us deal with this daily but we don’t do any better than those who do are not familiar with the routine.
I WAS SITTING, torn by grief...
Someone came and talked to me of God's dealings, of why it happened, of hope beyond the grave. He talked constantly, he said things I knew were true.
I was unmoved, except to wish he'd go away. He finally did.
Another came and sat beside me. He didn't talk. He didn't ask leading questions. He just sat beside me for an hour and more, listened when I said something, answered briefly, prayed simply, left.

Many things in this life are given a price tag of importance. Education, wealth, the corner office, titles, and positions all top the list. But where is God? The adversary (Satan) lulls us to sleep. We are convinced that our priorities are aligned even if God is not at the top. Self-evaluation is one of the hardest things to do. Find ways to have a check and balance of who you are and what you are doing.

Spelling is important, but God is it. Serve Him and you won’t regret it in eternity.
