Notice: Recall of All Human Beings

The Maker of all human beings is recalling all units manufactured,
regardless of make or year, due to a serious defect in the primary and
central components of the heart. This is due to a malfunction in the
original prototype units -- code named Adam and Eve, resulting in the
reproduction of the same defect in all subsequent units. This defect has been termed "Subsequential Internal Non-morality" or more commonly known as S.I.N.

Some symptoms of this defect:

1. Loss of direction
2. Foul vocal emissions
3. Amnesia of origin
4. Lack of peace and joy
5. Selfish or violent behavior
6. Depression or confusion in the mental component
7. Fearfulness
8. Idolatry
9. Rebellion

The Manufacturer, Who is neither liable or a fault for this defect, is providing factory authorized repair and service free of charge to correct this S.I.N. defect. The repair Technician, Jesus, has most generously offered to bear the entire burden of the staggering cost for these repairs. There is no additional fee required.

The number to call in all areas is P-R-A-Y-E-R. Once connected, please upload your S.I.N. through REPENTANCE procedure. Next, download ATONEMENT from the repair Technician, Jesus, into the heart component.

No matter how big or small the S.I.N. defect is, Jesus will replace it with:

1. Love
2. Joy
3. Peace
4. Patience
5. Kindness
6. Goodness
7. Faithfulness
8. Gentleness
9. Self-control

Please see the operating manual, the B.I.B.L.E. (Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth) for further details on the use of these repairs.

WARNING: Continuing to operate the human being unit without correction voids any guarantee or warranty. For free emergency service, call on Jesus.

DANGER: The human being units not responding to this recall action will have to be scrapped in the furnace. The S.I.N. defect will not be permitted to enter Heaven, so as to prevent contamination of that facility.

Please assist where possible by notifying others of this important recall.

Thank You.

In The Flesh

As many of you know, my son Andy is home from Iraq. A long year, but he is now home. We had a family homecoming for him at his home in Dresden, Tennessee this past Friday. It was so good to be with him again and to be with family. At one point, I was standing beside him and put my hand on his shoulder. It felt so good to touch him and to see his smile and to know that he was safe. What a blessing to have him home now.

As I thought about the homecoming on the way back to Indiana, I considered how Jesus must have felt when he touched his creation. What was he thinking as he grew up in the home of Joseph and Mary? Did he ever just reach out and touch them. Did he glow inside when he touched them? The Creator and his creation. Touching. Reflection. Love. That is what I felt when I touched Andy.

Maybe that is why we read in the Gospels that Jesus often touched people. And maybe that is why they (the creation) wanted to touch him. See, there is nothing like the touch of family.

Parents, touch your kids.

Kids, touch your parents.

Church, God has touched you with His Spirit. He dwells in you.

Church, touch the world.

There is nothing better than the touch of family.

Coming Home

Today is a day that we have longed for and prayed for this past year. Today, my son, Andy will return from a year in Iraq. He is a 1st Lt. in the Tennessee National Guard. He is with the 913th Engineering Company from Union City, Tennessee. And they are coming home today. As I write this they are scheduled to be flying to somewhere in Europe and then later tonight land in Indianapolis. They will go through some processing at Camp Atterbury and then be released to be bused back to Tennessee.

What a glorious day. What a wonderful day. The day my child comes home. I wonder if this is what God feels when one of his comes home? I wonder if a tear comes to his eye as he anxiously awaits his child that has been in harm's way, is now coming home? I believe he is anxious, anticipating, longing and excited. That is what fathers do when their children come home.

I am proud of him. He has served. He has seen death, unfortunately. He has endured. He has been faithful to his mission. What more could you ask of your son? I am reminded of one of my favorite hymns:

"Come home, come home, ye who are weary come home. Earnestly, tenderly Jesus is calling, calling, O sinner, come home. Come home Andy. We have open arms that need to be filled. Our prayers have been answered. We are proud. Thank you God.
